Melissa (Melissa officinalis)
Melissa is an intensely fresh and sweet citrus aroma, with a slightly herbaceous tone.
Traditionally used for melancholy, it is considered helpful for stress associated with tension headaches, and digestive problems. It is said to relieve agitation in people with dementia.
It is a cooling oil, full of energy and revitalising. It's sweet fragrance is comforting and understanding during times of grief, and opening the heart to finding inner contentment. It softens extreme emotions and soothes resentment. It allows us to reflect on what we have to be grateful for.
Melissa balances Wood and Fire Elements.
It is steam distilled from the leaves and flowering tops.
